Searches for "CITB test questions and answers" are common, and they often lead to lists of answers passed around online. Those lists are unreliable, and they cannot teach you the reasoning the real test checks. This guide explains a better way to learn from practice questions.
Why we do not publish answer lists
A list of answers teaches you to recognise a question, not to handle a new one. Our practice questions are original, and each answer comes with the reason it is the safest choice. That reason is the part you can reuse on the day.
A method for every question
- Read the question and name the hazard before looking at the options.
- Choose an answer, then check the reason even if you were right.
- For a wrong answer, explain in one sentence why your choice was less safe.
- Write the control principle down, such as "remove the hazard before relying on PPE".
- Come back to the question in a few days without looking at the answer.
Check the source of any answers you use
Be careful with any practice material that claims to reproduce official CITB questions. Official test content is protected. Use practice that explains its reasoning and cites public guidance, such as the HSE construction pages.
